About the Show
Paradise by the sea radio Show…
With Graham Belchamber
I am the Chair of CHR and have a regular 2pm Tuesday afternoon show.As well as my CHR responsibilities, I undertake other volunteer duties with East Sussex Healthcare Trust and assist students at Surrey University studying psychology.
I grew up in Bexhill on Sea, lived and worked in London and Liverpool and I am now happily settled in Hastings. My working career ranged from issuing passports, managing a training department, a full time negotiator for various trade unions and organising local, European and parliamentary elections.
I have been an active music fan since a young age with a large and growing collection of CD’s of all genres. I love live music and seen 100’s and 100’s of concerts over the years. Bruce Springsteen is my favourite and I’ve seen him across the UK, European Union and USA 67 times including his longest show (so far), over 4 and a half hours in Helsinki.
Whilst I have travelled extensively including India a few times, Australia, Nepal and many EU countries; holidaying, watching cricket or for music, Hastings by the sea is the perfect place to live for me. With so much live music in the pubs and venues and the great vibrancy across the town.
Where else would you find large music events such as Fat Tuesday and Beatles Day, alongside the uniquely craziness of Pirates Weekend, Jack in the Green, Old Town Week and the Bonfire, all in one town? Hastings!
I am a strong believer in the NHS and its founding principal of free at the point of access for all; irrelevant of peoples background, financial means, ethnicity and nationality. I am very proud to be able to help give back some of my time to such a wonderful organisation. Long may it live.
