I love all kinds of music so you will hear a wide selection of genres, moods and decades on my shows. From Motown, jazz, soul, pop, country, folk, rock n roll – 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and more current music too– I play it all. Sometimes I will choose a theme for my shows and feature songs around the theme with chat and facts and little stories which I hope are of interest to listeners.
Music is enjoyable to listen to and dance and move to and I think music has therapeutic qualities with the power to soothe, heal and comfort and bring back reminders of places, memories and past times. I think this is especially important if a person is at a low ebb with illness or suffers from dementia and needs a song to find themselves again or give them a boost.
It is so hard to choose 5 Top Songs as I have so many favourites but these would be somewhere near the top
1. Imagine – John Lennon
2. What’s Going On – Marvin Gaye
3. Here Comes the Sun – The Beatles
4. These are the Days of our Lives – Queen
5. Bridge Over Troubled Water – Simon & Garfunkel
